Gevea Medium Voltage Switches

Overhead Air Break Switch

The Gevea air break switch is manufactured by a family owned company with over 80 years experience.

The switch is designed to minimise maintenance and reduce installation times. Being a modular system, many attachments are available that can be fitted in the field. The switch can be provided with either two or three insulators per phase in either 12, 24 or 36kV ratings.

The preferred insulator is cycloaliphatic epoxy resin; chosen by customers for its superior performance.

Benefits

Improved reliability and safety: - Robust construction makes this switch operator friendly during installation and use.
Modular design: - The only difference between the 12/24kV and the 36kV units, are the insulators. The modular design allows for many additions to the central phase element.
Minimal Maintenance: - The switch is designed to be maintenance free over its entire life. Moving parts have been kept to a minimum.
Fast installation: - No cutting of metalwork, the down-rod is telescopic. Once down-rod travel is set, no other adjustments are required. Phase elements automatically align during assembly.
Design flexibility for easier integration into your system: - Steel or insulated cross arm, insulated down rod, hook stick mechanism, various mounting options including an earth switch.
